Origins First 1000 Days was formed in 2017 with a mission to create a wellness-based solution to the crisis of chronic disease, to reverse the explosive trajectory of healthcare costs, and to establish a new global paradigm of wellness.
We continually seek to leverage promising new ideas from health and behavioral sciences through practical, broad-scale applications that empower and motivate people living with diabetes, obesity and other chronic diseases to take control of their health and wellbeing. Such a paradigm change is predicated on the individual’s—the healthcare consumer’s—motivation to reject the disease-management model of healthcare and embrace an alternative that is simple, proven, and highly-effective:
- adopting a healthy diet,
- engaging in regular physical activity, and
- maintaining active and rich connections with others.

Origins FTD Foundation envisions a humanistic healthcare economy that runs on psychological energy: love and kindness, caring and compassion, encouragement and moral duty.
